The BRC SEIB Insurance Brokers Quadrille Selection Trial 2018 took place once again at Bury Farm Equestrian Village in Buckinghamshire on Saturday 29 September.

A packed crowd was thoroughly entertained on Saturday evening by the 14 participating Quadrille teams, who have come from all over the UK to represent their clubs, culminating in four teams being selected to compete for the 2018 Quadrille of the Year at the Bury Farm ‘All Stars Gala’ event on Sat 3 November.

The imaginative themes ranged from Wooden Soldiers, Can Can Girls and Space, to The Wizard of Oz and Spanish Flamencos to name but a few. Many hours had gone into creating the stunning costumes, elaborate chorography and foot stomping music.

Judges, Jo Winfield, FBHS, Alison Duck, List 2 Dressage Judge and Mary Thornley, List 4 Dressage Judge were enthralled by the sheer spectacle and entertainment demonstrated by all these teams.

The turnout came first, with attention to detail paramount. Then Durham & District RC (Area 2) kicked off the performances, with the judges positioned around the arena to observe the routines from different perspectives. All the teams then re entered the arena on foot to wait for the final selection, with qualifications going to:

– Saffron Walden & District RC (Area 8) – Parade of the Wooden Soldiers

– Billericay RC (Area 8) – Wizard of Oz

– Cornwall TREC Group (Area 19) – St. Trinians

– Buchan RC (Area 22) – Buchan RC Space Mission 3000
