Shouldham woods are owned by the Stow Estate but managed by the Forestry Commission, an undulating site on the edge of the fens with two healthy woodland walks. Remnants of an historic spring on top of the hill are indicated by a Rhododendron avenue.

Horse Riding

There is an ‘open access’ policy for people taking part in horse riding on freehold land in Thetford Forest.

The leasehold land of Shouldham woods has been given the same ‘open access’ rights by kind permission of the landowner.

For organised activities of over 20 people a permit is required to ensure activities are covered by insurance and do not affect other users.

Carriage Driving

Carriage Driving is permissive giving access to all freehold land and Shouldham woods with kind permission from the land owners.

A permit to Carriage Drive is required to ensure your activities are covered by insurance and do not affect other users.
